The Saint Dominic Parish of the Future (POTF) Education Committee will present a positive program as its first presentation of the 2016-2017 school year on Monday, September 19th from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. Admission is free and all are welcome.
The goals of the growth mindset research of Dr. Carol Ann Dweck, a world- renowned professor of psychology at Stanford University, are to help individuals start the school year on a positive note to develop improved interpersonal relationships at work, among friends, with classmates and family. The Growth Mindset offers the discovery f a new outlook to approaching goals and building the resilience that many successful parents, teachers, CEOs and have already come to experience.
Ann Marie Spinelli, Education Consultant andAdjunct Professor of Mathematics Education at CCSU, will share strategies on how we learn to fulfill our true potential to reach goals through a growth mindset. “With a few simple ideas, each of us can discover how to create a love for learning as the root of great accomplishments using our unique, God-given talents in our academic, personal and professional pursuits. Don’t miss this opportunity to change your outlook and discover how to be a positive force that God calls us to be.” Spinelli said.
The event will be held at the St. Dominic naCommunity Learning Center located on the former School Campus behind the church at 1050 Flanders Rd, at the corner of Laning St. in Southington.
